Growing Your Own Greens
CARPENTERS WOOD DRIVE: It was agreed from the outset that the garden needed ‘taming’ as many of the borders had become overcrowded with ‘leggy’ shrubs and many trees requiring deadwooding and crown and canopy thinning. A challenging shady border close to the kitchen needed a planting re-think and the owners wanted 3 raised beds and a bespoke shed constructed. The rear fence was in a poor state and needed replacing with a new door.
The team began in Winter with the shed, fencing and raised beds construction. Renovating all the borders and fruit tree pruning followed with the final kitchen bed planted up in the Spring. The plant palette featured successional colour through the season and core plants with architectural interest.
